SOUTHERN CROSS CARE (VIC) CARING FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

Dementia and Memory Support

Southern Cross Care (Vic) provides a range of services and specialist programs to help meet the physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs of those living with dementia, along with their families. We also recognise that carers sometimes need support and regular breaks to be able to continue in their demanding roles.
Dementia services and carer respite are available at all of our residential homes, and through our Community Services (care at home).  The National Respite for Carers program, designed to support relatives and friends caring at home for people living with dementia, operates in Lynbrook and Shepparton, and the Home or Away program operates in Shepparton.
Macleod Cottage, a specialist respite home in Melbourne’s outer north-east, provides valuable support to the carers of people living with dementia.
We invest in our staff, ensuring they have access to ongoing dementia education programs to maximise their knowledge of this disease and strategies to support a person living with dementia. SCC (Vic) also has a dedicated Dementia Care Consultant, who is available to speak with individuals living with dementia, their families and/or carers about the full range of support services available.  To arrange an appointment, phone (03) 8564 1800 or email our Dementia Care Consultant at mail@southern-cross.org.au
