Southern Cross Care (Vic) is a leader in the provision of quality aged care services across Victoria. We seek to continue to develop, learn and challenge the way we support older Australians.
As a not for profit organisation, Southern Cross Care (Vic) receives no capital funding from Government. We do rely on the support of friends, partners and the community to allow us to provide the necessities to enable our clients and residents to have choices in their lives to maintain the quality of life they deserve.
Essential Equipment Appeal
Southern Cross Care (Vic) seeks your support to buy loan equipment for clients of our Care at Home (Community Services) to remain in their own homes for longer. The equipment will make an enormous difference to the lives of older people, and includes:
- hoists (up to $5000 each) to support have limited mobility,
- lightweight collapsible wheelchairs ($500 each), and
- exercise bikes for wheelchair-bound people (also $500 each)
“Imagine” Fund
Our “Imagine This” fund supports programs to help reduce social isolation and improve quality of life for our clients. This may be as simple as to enable residents and clients to participate in community events and outings they could not otherwise afford, right up to accessing the latest technology, such as smart phones and tablets (eg. iPads) to keep our clients connected to family and friends.
Capital Appeal
A major Capital Appeal will be launched to build and furnish Chapels and reflection spaces in all of our residential homes. These private/community spaces provide places of peace and tranquillity, as well as spiritual support.
